Hari Om!
Chinmaya Mission West organized a residential adults-only Sadhana Camp conducted by Pujya Swami Swaroopananda, Global Head, Chinmaya Mission, at Krishnalaya, Piercy from July 20th to 25th, 2018. Pujya Swamiji chose two books authored by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda - "Jnana Sara" and "Shri Rama Gita".
Pujya Swamiji’s lucid explanations and his ability to weave the two books together into a cohesive whole held the attention of the campers who came from a variety of backgrounds and from from multiple countries. Swamiji's stories, especially the one about the 'Nahi' in a Hindi movie climax scene (you had to be there!) had the campers in splits; however they also brought subtle Vedantic truths to life for the campers. Swamiji's story about the compassion of a Guru brought tears to everyone's eyes.
Swamini Shivapriyananda, Chinmaya Mission Toronto, conducted the morning meditation classes that brought stillness into focus. We were also fortunate to have a yoga instructor among the campers, Ajay Marwaha, who conducted daily morning yoga classes after the first day.
All the campers and acharyas went for a field trip to the Redwoods (Richardson Grove) to explore the serene redwoods, termed as rishis by Pujya Gurudev. The delegates celebrated the last night of the camp with an amazing campfire with a lot of singing and delicious 'bhuttas'.
Everyone pitched in to make the Camp one to remember forever!
